Justs Karlsons:
Justs Karlsons is a part-time counsel at our firm and a Senior partner at San Francisco, USA based law firm Carroll, Burdick & McDonough LLP. His main areas of practice covers Civil Litigation, Products Liability and International Private Law. For over 20 years, he has defended automobile and automobile parts manufacturers. He has successfully defended Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar, BMW, Porsche and Volkswagen in the cases involving automotive design and manufacture. He has tried to jury verdict in excess of 20 serious products cases. On behalf of auto manufacturers, he has handled consumer class action and quasi criminal proceedings brought under California Unfair Trade Practices Act. He has authored and argued briefs on products liability, scope of protective orders and related discovery issues, particularly involving foreign corporations and limitations on discovery arising out of the Hague Convention on Discovery Abroad, as well as Hague Convention on Service of Process. He has defended consumer product and recreational equipment manufacturers, including Coleman, O'Brien, Mastercraft, Volvo- Penta, Krup, and other manufactures. He is author of several publications and presentations covering his area of practice. He is a Recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Tort Law.
